Yes, it was great drama—arguably the greatest Ryder Cup ever. Coming from 10-6 down after two days of team matches to win 14 ½-13 ½, Team Europe mounted the best comeback in the history of the competition.

Yes, the United States came back from the same deficit to win at Brookline in 1999, but that was on home soil. Europe’s latest win trumps that because it’s much more
difficult for the visiting team to mount
such a rally.
